"The Citizenship is a two-piece indie/folk ensemble from scenic Carrollton, KY. To any who care to notice, their philosophy seems to revolve around being mercuric. Their live show is sometimes simple and soft, while their recorded material can be loud, fast, and full.
They have a sound that brings to mind the volume of Neutral Milk Hotel and early Arcade Fire, with the occasional whimsy of Olivia Tremor Control. The two permanent members, Jon Becraft and Peter Fremin, have apparently made no preconceptions about their music, and with a sound that changes as often as their clothes, who could ask for anything else?"
