| Many have asked what does Point Of Real mean? The answer to that question is simple. All the members have reached the POINT in their lives where the only things that matter are the things that are REAL to them.
The band is the realization of a dream THE dream. It is the evolution of four men trying to find themselves in a world of average, flat, unemotional music. Travis and Greg first met in 1998 in a guitar shop in Lexington, Ky. where they formed an instant friendship. Together, along with two others formed the short-lived Weathered Soul. After the breakup, Greg and Travis went their separate ways, only to find each other again some seven years later.
In that seven-year period, Travis joined up with a band in nearby Lawrenceburg, Ky. called Blind Addiction. This was the entrance of Shawn and TJ into the mix. Blind Addiction only lasted for three years before Travis answered the call of his country and enlisted in the U.S. Army.
Upon Travis return to Ky., he formed an unnamed jam band with TJ and Shawn. Playing and recording songs for friends and whoever would listen, their fan base began to grow. There was only one problem: they needed a bass player. Enter Greg, recently returned to Ky. from his former home of Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. After his audition, there was no turning back. Point Of Real had arrived.
Travis was deployed to Iraq in June of 2005 and spent a year in the Middle East as a combat medic. His return from the desert marked the beginning of a new day for Point Of Real. With Travis powerful lead vocals, complimented by Shawns soulful and focused lead guitar styling, and held together by the massive rhythm section of TJ on Drums and Gregs thundering bass lines, Point Of Real is a force to be reckoned with You WILL be rocked!!
